Each week of the WINTER KIDS challenge is January will follow a different theme for the week:

  • Week 1: January 6th - 10th: Physical Fitness Week
    • Students, staff, and families will be getting active in new ways here at school and at home to enjoy wintertime in Maine!
  • Week 2: January 13th - 17th: Nutrition Week
    • We will be focusing on how to make healthy eating choices to fuel our bodies to stay active and healthy!
  • Week 3: January 20th - 24th: Art and Family Engagement Week
    • Be ready! This week will feature lots of fun events for the whole family to enjoy!
  • Week 4: January 27th - January 31st: Winter Carnival
    • A fun way to celebrate all of our learning and activity is to come together in a week of exciting events!

2020 Fairview Art Contest

2020 Fairview Art Contest

  • 1 winner displays art work at Portland Museum of Art
  • 2nd and 3rd place art works get prizes
  • Rules: Each student, grades pre-K through 6, can enter 1 art work, which can be an artwork completed in art class with Mr. A. last year or this year, in art GT, or in art camp, or be an ORIGINAL new art work done on your own. (On your own excludes if you took private lessons or took part in other art camps/classes), ORIGINAL means you can use images as resources but you must make it your own. Give it your twist/style! It cannot be an exact copy. It must show your unique perspective.
  • Art cannot be larger than 18 x 24 , it can use any 2-D materials: paint, chalk, charcoal, ink, pencil, pen, marker, crayon, pastel, etc
  • Art must be turned in neatly: Do NOT roll, or fold! Put on Mr. A’s Desk in a clearly marked box/location.
  • Art work can be turned in: January 3-February 7th
  • Entries without clearly marked names and grades, written on the back of art work will be eliminated from the contest.
