Auburn School Nutrition Takes Part in the Federally Funded

Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. 

The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) is a federally assisted program providing free fresh fruits and vegetables to children at eligible elementary schools during the school day. The goal of the FFVP is to introduce children to fresh fruits and vegetables, to include new and different varieties, and to increase overall acceptance and consumption of fresh, unprocessed produce among children. The FFVP also encourages healthier school environments by promoting nutrition education.

Meal Prices

Breakfast & Lunches at all Schools provided at no cost for School Year 2024

through Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), Special Provisions II and State of Maine Legislation. 

 

Utilizing these programs at all our schools means that traditional Free & Reduced Lunch Applications are NO LONGER required and the link to Nutri-Link has been removed.

Even through (1) breakfast & lunch per day is available for ALL at no charge we still offer a la carte purchases and 2nd lunches which accrue an additional charge on student accounts.

  • Please take advantage of the options to prepay your student's meal accounts.

  • Prepaid meal accounts help the lunch lines go faster and gives students more time to eat, relax, and play.

  • It also gives you the peace of mind of not having to worry about looking for lunch money every day or worry that it might get lost, stolen or used for other things other than lunch.

The Auburn School Nutrition Department's goal is enhance the student meal experience by providing nutritious and delicious meals to support their educational journey.

 

Message Regarding our Meals:

Our meals are prepared to meet the State of Maine and federal guidelines as set by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture and the State Dept. of Education. Meals meet the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and one-third of the Recommended Dietary Allowances for school-aged children.
